Native to Mesoamerica

Introduced by Forestry Department  but apparently not a success. Escaped on the Piton Flore trail.
The common international uses of C. calothyrsus are as firewood, fodder, reforestation, soil stabilisation, soil improvement, minor secondary production (pulp and paper, honey and shellac, leaf meal).
