| Clusiaceae family Tovomita plumieri Grisebach, Fl. Brit. W. Indian Is. 106. (1859). Palitivyé jòn Lesser Antillean endemic. Quite common tree of lower montane, montane and cloud montane rainforest. Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia. Vegetatively very similar to Chrysochlamys caribaea It has a bright yellow sap while the sap of Chrysochlamys caribaea is almost white. The two species are often found growing together. In general, however, Chrysochlamys caribaea is more common in steep ravines, while this species is more common in exposed positions. |
