Escaped shrub/small tree along path to Piton Flore from Forestiere.
Very occasionally seen elsewhere.
Native to Mesoamerica.
Introduced presumably by Department of Forestry but not now planted.
The common international uses are as firewood, fodder, reforestation, soil stabilisation, soil improvement, minor secondary production (pulp and paper, honey and shellac, leaf meal).
