St. Martin, St. Barthélemy, Guadeloupe, La Désirade, Marie Galante, Les Saintes, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, rest of West Indies, North America, Mesoamerica, South America.
Also cultivated for its twigs which are made into a juice.
