Wild Flowering Plants
Cupania americana Linnaeus, Sp. Pl. 1: 200. 1753.
Indigenous rare tree of semi-evergreen seasonal forest, especially by rivers'
Guadeloupe, La Désirade, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, Greater Antilles, South America.
Cupania triquetra is also listed for Saint Lucia in FLA. I suspect it is not here; young fruits of C. americana are sharply triquetrous (three-sided) but become more rounded as they mature.
