Myristica fragrans, nutmeg, miskad, is a common ingredient in tonics given for switkouch and other cold complications and for bles, rheumatism, and stroke.  For cough it is suggested you grate one-half nutmeg, add sugar, and suck or dissolve it in your mouth.  Caution is urged when using nutmeg as it is a hallucinogen.
