Indigenous tree of lowland rivers.
River L’Ivrogne floodplain close to the sea (south side of Gros Piton).  Quite rare in a very small area.  Also observed occasionally in Choiseul ravines.
Antigua, Saba, St. Eustatius, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia, Greater Antilles, Mesoamerica, South America.
Fruit considered poisonous locally. Sterile tree might  be mistaken for soursop.
