Chapo ma. Water lettuce
Indigenous aquatic herb of stagnant water and slow-flowing streams at low elevations.
Antigua, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Greater Antilles, Virgin Islands, Aruba, North America, Mesoamerica, and South America.
Also a cultivated ornamental.

It typically forms colonies in stagnant pools in rivers during the dry season, flushing away in the wet season.
However if drainage systems are disturbed and cut-off ponds are formed, it acts as an indigenous invasive, completely and permanently covering the surface.
