Poit. subsp. padifolius (L.) Dressler (1957). Indigenous shrub of coastal savanna and upper slopes of dry hills. Virgin Islands (St. Croix), Lesser Antilles. The species as a whole is found in Mexico, Central America, South America and the West Indies. Other subspecies are cultivated as ornamentals. |
