I have seen this species at Cul De Sac and Louvet Estate. St. Kitts, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, the Grenadines, Grenada, Barbados, Greater Antilles, North America, Mesoamerica, South America. There is a planted specimen by a house in Bellevue, Vieux Fort. The hairs on the pod cause irritation to the skin. This species is similar to M. urens Seeds like these are often found on Atlantic beaches - they could be from here or washed up from other islands. Local medicinal uses |
