Heliconia caribaea

West Indian endemic.
Very common robust herb of rainforest and in shady wet spots around the forest edge.
Antigua, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Greater Antilles.
This species differs from Heliconia bihai in having overlapping deep floral bracts and a powdery white substance on leaves and stems.  However hybrids exist. Also cultivated hybrids.
