Indigenous quite common tree/shrub of open dry areas at low elevations.
Widely naturalized, exact native range obscure.
There are three spiny 'acacia' trees with yellow flowers, Vachellia farnesiana, Vachellia macracantha, and
Acacia nilotica
They are most easily distinguished by their pods.
