Myrtaceae family

Eugenia stictopetala
de Candolle
, Prodr. 3: 270. 1828.
Syn.: Eugenia tapacumensis O. Berg (1856).

Indigenous rare shrub/small tree on rocky hills of deciduous seasonal forest.
Martinique, St. Lucia, Mesoamerica, South America.

McVaugh in FLA sunk this taxon into Eugenia lambertiana. However in the field the two taxons appear very different. My specimens from St. Lucia were accepted by Howard, with reservations, as being E. tapacumensis (now E. stictopetala) (pers.comm. Sept 5, 1997)
, and he extended the range into Martinique as well, confirming Fiard's opinion.
