Orchidaceae family

Habenaria monorrhiza
(Swartz) Reichenbach f.,
Ber. Deutsch. Bot. Ges. 3: 274.  1885.
Bas.: Orchis monorrhiza Swartz (1788).

Indigenous very rare terrestrial herb of open areas on Edmond Forest edge.
Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Barbados, Greater Antilles, Curaçao, Tobago, Trinidad, Mesoamerica, South America.
This species used to be found around the edge of Edmond Forest but I have not seen it for a many years. Reasons may be use of weed-eaters or the increasing dominance of the invasive ginger family member, Hedychium coronarium.
