Indigenous quite common epiphytic and lithophytic herb of upper level of semi-evergreen seasonal forest and lower level of lower montane rainforest.
Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, rest of West Indies, North America, Mesoamerica, South America.
A variegated form is cultivated in pots.
Similar to Peperomia magnoliifolia but inflorescence never branched.
