Wild Flowering Plants
Poaceae
family Andropogon glomeratus (Walter) Britton, Sterns, & Poggenburg, Prelim. Cat. 67. 1888. Bas.: Cinna glomerata Walter (1788). Fwen? Indigenous very common herb of open seasonally wet degraded spots. St. Martin, Antigua, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, Grenada, rest of West Indies, North America, Mesoamerica, South America. Often found in association with the taller, bushier but similar Andropogon bicornis Another simiar species, Schizachyrium microstachyum, is listed for St. Lucia and would be expected in the same habitat. Both species are probably here and I need to clarify my images and identifications. |
