Naturalized very rare tree in moist areas, Vigie to Union, Castries.
Native to Mesoamerica and South America.
Presumably planted as an ornamental. Now known only in the wild.
Howard determined a specimen as Triplaris americana but using a key from the Flora of the Venezuelan Guayana (courtesy F. Axelod), it appears to be this species.
