Rubiaceae family

Rosenbergiodendron formosum
(Jacquin) Fagerlind
, Svensk Bot. Tidskr. 42: 152.  1948.
Bas.: Mussaenda formosa Jacquin (1760).

Blackberry jam fruit

Shrub of dry roadside.
We have only found one specimen, which was growing wild, Laborie.
Native to Central America (Panama), northern South America to Ecuador.

Possibly introduced as a curiosity (the blue pulp around the seeds tastes of blackberry jam) and escaped, or possibly grew from a seed released by a migratory bird.
